Prior to forming his former law firm named Gonzalez & Douctre, LLC; Mr. Douctre (pronounced Doo-Tray) worked as an attorney in the capacity of an Assistant Public Defender for Orange County, Florida. He has represented many great people on an expansive range of criminal charges and other legal issues. Well before deciding to become a lawyer, he joined the United States Navy. He served our country from 1987-1991 as a Damage Controlman (Rank of Petty Officer Second Class or E-5) before receiving an honorable discharge a few years after after Desert Storm. He received the National Defense Medal during his naval service. After the Navy, he attended Pennsylvania State University (PSU) in Happy Valley for his undergraduate degree (from 1991-1995) before commencing law school in Florida in 1996 at Barry University School of Law (later graduating Cum Laude in 2002). In 1994 and 1995 respectively, he was inducted in the Kappa Tau Alpha and Golden Key National Honor Societies.

While in law school, he worked for many private civil law firms in a variety of legal capacities. He started in 1997 as a law student file clerk for the local Orlando law firm of Rissman & Wiesberg, et. al. In two years, he advanced to the position of Law Office Manager for The Center for Professional Legal Services of Greater Orlando. After leaving The Center in 1999, he worked consecutively as a Contracted Litigation Paralegal for: the National law firm of Baker & Hostetler, LLP, Dempsey & Sasso, and Gary, Williams, Parenti, Sperando, et. al. He is a former member of the American Bar Association and of the Central Florida Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association. Additionally, he belongs to the United States Middle District of Florida Bar where he practices Federal law too. He joined the Florida Bar in 2002. Mr. Douctre was Certified Breathalyzer Operator and a Certified Breathalyzer Maintenance Technician in 2004 and has detailed knowledge of the machine and how it works.  Since 2013, Attorney periodically volunteers pro bono (i.e. for no fee) at the Orange County Bar Association as a part time Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) to represent disadvantaged children whose parents are facing restriction or termination of their parental rights.  Attorney Douctre represents the child in the proceedings, makes recommendations to the Court, and advocates 100% for the child client; which is independent of the parents, their attorneys, and DCF.
